1. Introduction

Evolvelope provides AI-powered tools that help users draft, rewrite, and manage emails. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared with service providers, and the choices available to you.

By using Evolvelope, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Evolvelope, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: such as your email address and account identifier.
• Email-writing content: information you enter when asking Evolvelope to generate or rewrite an email, including recipients, email purposes, key details, tone selections, and generated email content.
• Saved emails: emails you choose to generate and store in your Evolvelope account.
• Usage information: such as your plan, number of AI email generations used, and monthly usage limits.
• Subscription information: information related to an Evolvelope Pro subscription, such as subscription status and Stripe customer or subscription identifiers.
• Technical information: certain technical data may be automatically processed when you use the service, such as IP address, browser information, device information, and security logs.
• Preferences: settings such as your preferred default email tone and email length may be stored in your browser.
• Google/Gmail connection information: if you choose to connect Gmail, Evolvelope receives authorization from Google that allows the service to send email through your Gmail account. Evolvelope stores an encrypted Google authorization token needed to maintain this connection. Evolvelope does not request permission to read your Gmail inbox or message history.
• Yahoo Mail connection information: if you choose to connect Yahoo Mail, Evolvelope may receive OAuth authorization that allows the service to send email through your Yahoo Mail account. Evolvelope securely stores the authorization credentials needed to maintain this connection. Evolvelope does not use the Yahoo Mail integration to read, search, synchronize, or retrieve your inbox or message history.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• Provide and operate Evolvelope.
• Generate and rewrite emails using AI.
• Save and display your email history.
• Authenticate and secure user accounts.
• Track Free and Pro plan usage.
• Process and manage subscriptions.
• Send account confirmation, password reset, and other transactional account emails.
• Diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve service reliability and security.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. AI Processing

When you ask Evolvelope to generate or rewrite an email, relevant content from your request is transmitted to our AI service provider so that the requested output can be generated.

You should avoid entering highly sensitive information that is not necessary to create your email, including passwords, financial account credentials, government identification numbers, or other confidential information.

5. Google and Gmail Integration

Connecting a Google account to Evolvelope is optional. When you connect Gmail, Evolvelope requests only the Google Gmail permission needed to send email on your behalf ("gmail.send").

Evolvelope does not request access to read your Gmail inbox, retrieve your Gmail message history, modify your existing messages, or manage your Gmail account.

When you explicitly choose to send an email through Gmail, Evolvelope sends the recipient address, subject, email body, and any PDF attachment you selected to Google so that Google can deliver the message from your connected Gmail account.

Evolvelope stores an encrypted Google refresh token so your Gmail connection can remain active between sessions. Google access tokens and refresh tokens are not displayed to other users.

Google user data obtained through Google Workspace APIs is used only to provide the Gmail sending feature requested by the user. Evolvelope does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use Google user data to train or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

You can disconnect Gmail at any time through Evolvelope Settings. When you disconnect Gmail, Evolvelope deletes the stored Google connection information associated with your account and attempts to revoke the Google authorization.

Evolvelope's use of information received from Google Workspace APIs adheres to the Google Workspace API User Data and Developer Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

6. Yahoo Mail Integration

Connecting a Yahoo Mail account to Evolvelope is optional. If Yahoo Mail integration is available and you choose to connect it, Evolvelope requests authorization only as necessary to allow you to send emails through your own Yahoo Mail account.

Evolvelope does not use the Yahoo Mail integration to read, search, synchronize, download, or retrieve your Yahoo Mail inbox or message history.

When you explicitly choose to send an email through Yahoo Mail, Evolvelope may process the recipient address, subject, email body, and any attachment you selected solely so the message can be delivered from your connected Yahoo Mail account.

Evolvelope securely stores the Yahoo OAuth authorization credentials needed to maintain your connection. Access tokens and refresh tokens are not displayed to other users.

Yahoo user data is used only to provide the Yahoo Mail sending functionality requested by the user. Evolvelope does not sell Yahoo user data, use Yahoo Mail data for advertising or behavioral targeting, or use Yahoo Mail data to train or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

You may disconnect Yahoo Mail through Evolvelope Settings when that integration is enabled. When you disconnect Yahoo Mail, Evolvelope will remove the stored Yahoo connection information associated with your account as appropriate.

7. Service Providers

Evolvelope relies on third-party service providers to operate the service. These include, or may include as applicable:

• Supabase for authentication, database services, and account infrastructure.
• OpenAI for AI-powered email generation and rewriting.
• Stripe for payment and subscription processing.
• Vercel for website hosting and application infrastructure.
• Postmark for transactional account emails.
• Google for optional Gmail authorization and delivery of emails that users explicitly choose to send through their connected Gmail account.
• Yahoo for optional Yahoo Mail authorization and delivery of emails that users explicitly choose to send through their connected Yahoo Mail account.

These providers may process information as necessary to perform services for Evolvelope and are governed by their own applicable privacy terms and policies.

8. Payments

Evolvelope uses Stripe to process paid subscriptions. Payment details are entered through Stripe's payment systems. Evolvelope does not receive your full payment-card number through the Evolvelope application.

9. Cookies and Local Storage

Evolvelope and its service providers may use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies where needed for authentication, security, application preferences, and operation of the service.

For example, Evolvelope currently stores certain email tone and length preferences in your browser's local storage.

10. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers when necessary to operate Evolvelope, process payments, generate AI content, authenticate accounts, send transactional emails, maintain security, or comply with law.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We also do not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

11. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Evolvelope, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our agreements.

Saved email content may remain associated with your account until you delete it or request deletion, subject to limited retention that may be necessary for legal, security, backup, or operational purposes.

To help enforce monthly usage limits and prevent abuse, Evolvelope may retain a limited hashed usage record for the current monthly usage period. This record is used only for usage-limit enforcement, security, and abuse prevention and is automatically removed after the monthly usage period has ended.

12. Your Choices and Privacy Requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. These may include requesting access, correction, or deletion of certain information.

13. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information processed through Evolvelope. However, no internet-based service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

14. Children's Privacy

Evolvelope is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected in circumstances requiring parental consent, we will take appropriate steps to address the information.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Evolvelope changes. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page.
